Description: Managers are often asked to act on board requests or to produce information that is reported to board members, but they are not included in boardroom proceedings. This session will provide a foundational overview of nonprofit governance including the role of a board, typical structures, typical roles, and tips for interacting with board members. This session is intended for middle- to senior-level managers.

CANCELLATION POLICY: While we understand that emergencies do occur, once a participant has been registered and is expected to attend a course, the NASW-Illinois Chapter has already factored that person’s attendance into costs already absorbed by the chapter. Unless stated otherwise on the registration form, our cancellation policy for MOST of our continuing education offerings is as follows:
- Cancellations received before the course grace period (ten minutes after course start time) are eligible for a refund MINUS the $10.00 technology fee. Refund requests received after the course grace period (10 minutes after course start time) are not eligible for refunds.
- Any no show for a course without prior cancellation notification will not be eligible for a refund nor the option to attend a future course at the absorbed cost.

CE QUALIFICATIONS: All courses offered through the NASW-Illinois Chapter meet the continuing education qualifications for LSWs, LCSWs, LPCs, LCPCs, LMFTs, RNs, LPNs, APNs, LCPs, and PELs (formerly Type 73) licensed in Illinois as required by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).

These events are hosted by the NASW-Illinois Chapter in partnership with the NASW-Nevada and NASW-North Dakota Chapters.
